Notes about the Antipodes and the Antipodeans

original yellow wrappers protected in early boards. Cockburn-Hood (1820-1889) was an Australian settler who spent  some time in Canterbury. He was geologist and politician, who made some significant fossil discoveries. Written in 3 parts: "The Pakehas", "The Maori and Anecdotes of the War; "New Zealand, its Attractions and Drawbacks", the work is a substantial criticism of European settlers and defence of the Maori.
